This Week In the Stars

The week/month’s astrological happenings

♇♑ Pluto ended its retrograde in Capricorn on Oct. 11th: This is the last time that Pluto will be direct in the sign of Capricorn in our lifetime! 🙏

Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio in Modern Astrology. It rules transformation, death/rebirth, and power. The furthest of all the outer planets, Pluto remains stationed in a zodiac sign for the longest amount of time, spending anywhere from 12 to 30 years in the same zodiac sign.

Pluto has been in the sign of Capricorn since January 2008 and will enter Aquarius on November 19th, 2024, where it will stay until 2043.

If you think about what has occurred on a global level from 2008 until now, you will probably feel overwhelmed and disillusioned. We have gone through multiple global financial crises, a massive technology/AI boom, mass global uprisings, the normalization of smartphone usage, wars, genocides, and conflicts in various parts of the world, the COVID-19 pandemic, the advent of content creation, mobilized efforts against the systems/structures in place, and more.

Now you may be wondering, “What does this have to do with the stars?” Well, if you understand what Pluto represents vs. What Saturn-ruled Capricorn represents, it will all start to make sense. Pluto seeks to transform, to tear everything down and build it up again, but this time, “better.” Pluto does not aim to fix or repair things, rather, it is destructive and wants a complete overhaul. Capricorn on the other hand, is associated with authority, governments, structures, institutions, and foundations. What we have been seeing over the last 16+ years is a battle between those who wish to enact change and those who prefer to preserve the systems that feel comfortable and familiar. We can see all of this manifesting before our eyes in the form of power struggles, authority/control vs. freedom, and political polarization, to name a few.

In Practice: [practical actions to take to harness these energies in your life]

🍂As Pluto transitions out of its five-month retrograde period in Capricorn, we can take some of the lessons and insights we have learned moving forward. The Pluto retrograde period compelled many of us to focus on our shadow side and the parts of ourselves that had been overlooked for too long. During this very brief stationing of Pluto in Capricorn moving direct, it could be helpful to do the following:

  • Pluto brings us major shifts and transformations individually and collectively. While it is true that we are always changing and nothing is truly constant, there is no doubt that many of us have gone through major, even drastic changes that could have felt “accelerated”, if that makes sense.

  • Journaling 📝 is excellent for self-reflection, so I’ve drafted the following journal prompts to help you harness these energies and use them to your advantage.

  1. Write a list of the most significant changes you’ve gone through since the start of 2024. Think about those changes, specifically how these experiences will shape your present and future identity. What big realizations have you had this year? What parts of yourself do you feel you are letting go of vs. evolving into?

  2. Capricorn deals with structure, foundations, and systems and it’s vital to understand how those three things affect us. We are socialized into abiding by these systems on a societal level. Not only this, we also adopt structures and routines that can be limiting, unsuitable, and not truly beneficial for our highest good. How do you imagine your daily life will change moving forward? What new habits or routines can help you adapt and thrive?

  3. Pluto enters progressive, innovative, and forward-looking Aquarius on November 19th, a zodiac sign that’s seen as more receptive to change than Capricorn. In fact, Aquarius loves to shake things up even if we’re not truly “ready” for it! Over the next 20 or so years, it is likely that technology will continue to advance rapidly and that we will witness and be part of major changes relating to power structure/distribution, societal structures/norms, and the role of communities in our lives. Which of these shifts are you more inclined to embrace and which ones are you more resistant to?

🌕 Full Moon in Aries on October 17th-18th (depending on timezone): The upcoming Aries Super Full Moon will be nothing short of exhilarating. Passionate and energetic Aries is full of life and excitement, but we also can’t forget that this sign is ruled by Mars, which is associated with action, war, and violence. We might be feeling pent-up rage (especially Aries, the other fire signs, Cardinal signs, and Scorpios), and this full moon allows us to channel those intense feelings. This Moon will be conjunct Chiron in Aries, which will compel us to address pain and trauma stored beneath the surface.

In Practice: [practical actions to take to harness these energies in your life]

It is okay to be angry, to feel upset, and to experience negative emotions. It’s never a good idea to suppress these feelings, because they will build up inside us. It’s best to channel these challenging energies. Here are some of my favorite methods:

  1. Move your body! Dance! Either alone or with friends or whoever. Put on a music video of a song that gets you excited and dance along to it. If you prefer background music too, that also works! If you don’t like dancing, go for a walk, run or bike ride.

  2. Punch a pillow or scream into it, as crazy as that sounds. It’s an extremely effective way to let out rage.

  3. Journal everything that’s been on your mind without hesitation. Don’t focus on grammar and punctuation, and instead try to get everything out there on paper.

Your Stellar Truth Updates

  • I’ve added a new birth chart reading service! I now offer solar return readings, which give a detailed insight into the themes, challenges, and opportunities that will shape your upcoming year, starting from your birthday. This reading analyzes the Solar Return chart, which is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment the Sun returns to the same position as it was at your birth. This new service makes a stellar birthday gift! 🥳

  • I’m going to start adding 1-2 blog posts per week on my website, some of which I’ll be including in this newsletter. Stay tuned!

  • Venus has been stationed in Scorpio since September 22nd and will remain there until tomorrow. As a Venus in Scorpio myself, this transit has been intense in both good and bad ways. I feel like this piece from Medium explains this placement so well.
