  • Full Pink Moon in Scorpio

Last night’s Full Pink Moon in Scorpio seen from Rubí, Catalunya.

What exactly is a Pink Moon?

The moon entered the sign of Scorpio on Tuesday, April 23rd. In this case, it was a Full Pink Moon, which gets the name “pink” from Eastern indigenous tribes of the U.S. that assigned this nickname as it coincides with the time of Spring when herb moss pink blooms. One should note that many Native American tribes have given nicknames to each full moon. However, these names were not included in the Old Farmer’s Almanac until the 1930s. The names are associated with different harvests, weather events, animals, and creatures that tend to occur or emerge during that full moon. This source provides detailed descriptions of the nicknames of all the full moons.

What is the significance of this astrological event?

  • A full moon represents a time to purge all that no longer serves us. This is a time of the month when we should go within to get a sense of what we have been feeling and try to investigate the “why” behind it.

  • Scorpio is an intense, deep, strong, powerful sign associated with transformation, intimacy, sexuality, breakthroughs, intuition, and emotions.

  • A full moon in Scorpio is an ideal time to look inward and get off “auto-pilot” to address our deepest emotional thoughts and needs. Not only this, but this full moon in Scorpio can also give us closure and an opportunity to recharge and renew our energy.

  • Scorpio also forces us to confront our deepest fears, including our shadow side, which is the part of ourselves that we may be ashamed of and reluctant to accept and reveal to others.

The divine timing of this full moon

  • This full moon falls between the traditional Celtic festivals of the Spring Equinox (Ostara) and May Day (Beltane).

  •  The Spring Equinox represents a sense of rebirth and flourishing following a long winter, and May Day symbolizes the harmony between masculine and feminine energies, making this an opportune time to open ourselves to giving and receiving love, including self-love.

  •  This is also a time to celebrate community, friends, family, unity, and togetherness. Now might be the moment to use your lovely rose quartz, which is known for healing, purifying, and opening our hearts.
