Major astrological events this week:
Mars enters Gemini on July 20th, 2024
Full Moon in Capricorn (again!) on July 21st, 2024
Mars enters Gemini
On July 20th, Mars will move from the slow and steady sign of Taurus to the quick-witted and versatile sign of Gemini!
What does this mean for us? Well, the Mars in Taurus season probably had many of us feeling more apprehensive than usual. This is mainly attributed to the fact that Mars is the ruler of Aries and the co-ruler of Scorpio, and Scorpio is the opposite sign of Taurus so as a result, when Mars is placed in Taurus or Libra, it is considered to be in its detriment. When a planet is in its detriment, it means it is somewhat debilitated in that sign, because the planet is not particularly comfortable in that sign.
In astrology, Mars rules assertiveness, action, impulses, sexual drive, and masculine energy. The zodiac sign Mars is placed in can show us how someone takes action when challenged, the way they assert themselves and go after what they want, as well as what motivates them most.
Mars in Taurus typically influences people to take longer to make decisions, to second guess things more, and to weigh all options heavily before taking action. Mars in Gemini on the other hand operates differently. Mars in Gemini encourages us to be more flexible, adaptable, and willing to try new things, it is dynamic and engaging!
Once Mars enters Gemini, we will probably feel less stifled than we did during the Mars in Taurus period, but the indecisiveness may still remain! Gemini has a very active (sometimes overactive) mind and can be inconsistent at times, changing its mind often.

The upcoming July Full Moon in Capricorn will be a special one indeed, and here’s why:
It is the second full moon in the sign of Capricorn this year! This is a rare occurrence.
It will occur at 29 degrees, known as an ‘anaretic’ degree, a critical degree in astrology that represents completions and a transition into a new sign (each zodiac sign spans 30 degrees of celestial longitude.)
This full moon is nicknamed the ‘Buck Moon,’ because deer bucks typically grow new antlers during this time of year.
Overall, this upcoming Full Moon in Capricorn invokes rejuvenation, beginnings, endings, and renewal.
This Full Moon is also forming some noteworthy aspects with other planets, including:
-A trine with Mars in Gemini: This is a very positive aspect, as it will influence many of us to embrace leadership roles, take new initiatives, and gain the courage needed to try new things and embark on new journeys. Emotional resilience is also a big theme here!
-A trine with Uranus in Taurus: Another positive aspect that could inspire us to be unconventional, to go against the grain, and to hone our creativity and inventiveness.
-A conjunction with Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius: This aspect can go either way, on the one hand, it could manifest in the form of emotional intensity and feeling everything quite deeply, on the other hand, it can be transformative and very powerful if we are willing to go within and be introspective.
Astrology concept of the week: What is astrocartography?
My personal astrocartography lines over different South American countries, I figured it was fitting since I recently traveled to Brazil and Colombia 🙂
Although astrology has become pretty popular, there is a sub-discipline of it that has generated a lot of buzz lately, especially on TikTok, and that is astrocartography!
Some of you may be wondering, what on Earth is astrocartography?! Well, it’s essentially a discipline that merges astrology with maps!
It was established in the 1970s by Jim Lewis, an astrologer from the U.S., and is often referred to as locational astrology.
Astrocartography maps your birth chart against a map of the world to gauge the types of energies you would be most inclined to experience in different locations. The specific planetary lines found overlaying different places can give us an idea of what living or traveling there could entail for us.
For example, traveling to your Venus MC line could be beneficial to you career-wise, because it indicates ease, harmony, and reduced stress in terms of the work you do. You would also be perceived quite well in this location, because the MC line deals with a person’s work, reputation, and public image and Venus is associated with peace, harmony, and reduced conflict.
The different lines used in deal with various life themes and include the MC lines (career, reputation, public image), IC lines (family, roots, home, foundations, ancestry), DC lines (all types of relationships with others), and AC lines (relationship with oneself.) The planet/celestial body the line is paired with also influences our experiences. For example, Saturn tends to bring lessons, karma, and a desire for structure, Venus tends to bring abundance, peace, and harmony, Mars can bring determination, resilience, and an urge to take action and initiate.
I offer astrocartography readings on my website! Consider booking one if you’re thinking about where/when to travel or if you’re potentially looking to relocate, I would love to work with you!
