Your Stellar Truth: May 15th, 2024

Issue #6

Hello, lovely readers! Mercury is out of retrograde and has entered Taurus! Keep reading to learn about how this will affect us. Today’s newsletter is also jam-packed with fabulous FREE resources to help boost your knowledge and understanding of astrology.

Major astrological events:

  • Mercury enters Taurus on May 15th, 2024 (today!) and will remain here until June 3rd, when it enters Gemini.

What does this mean?

  • Mercury is the planet of communication, the mind, and learning.

  • Some major Taurus themes include beauty, luxury, romance, stability, practicality, and financial security.

  • When Mercury is in Taurus, we can expect more reliability, consistency, and directness in our communication with others. However, this isn’t the kind of directness we see with signs like Aries, Scorpio, and Sagittarius, as it is not as harsh and more refined.

  •  Mentally, we might be inclined to focus more and adopt unwavering dedication to our work, business, activism, and other projects. This positioning of Mercury may also influence us to feel more comfortable communicating our values and standards to others, as Taurus is often associated with tradition, having high standards, and never settling for less.

  • If you are in a non-platonic relationship, you’ll probably find it easier to communicate with your partner(s) regarding your needs and intentions for the future. This can be an excellent time to discuss finances and set foundations for a major investment such as a wedding, starting a family, opening a business, or even big travel plans.

  • On the flip side, the sign of Taurus is linked to inflexibility, stagnancy, fear of change, and stubbornness. Keeping this in mind can help us avoid having a one-track mind and a stubborn attitude when communicating with others.

Astrology concept of the week: What is a natal chart?/ How can I calculate mine?

My own birth chart

  • A Natal chart is also referred to as a birth chart (Natal comes from the Latin word ‘natus,’ which means “to be born.) It is a map that shows where all the planets, asteroids, and other celestial bodies were located in their orbit at the moment you were born.

  • Natal charts are often shown in a wheel format that reveals the planets, the houses (I will be discussing this in next week’s newsletter, but here is an overview of the houses in astrology), and the astrological aspects, which show us the angular relationships between celestial bodies (I will also touch upon this in greater detail in a future newsletter.)

  • Knowing and studying your natal chart can help you understand yourself better in terms of your personality, your approach to life, your emotions, thoughts, instincts, overall life path, and even past lives. As an astrologer, I do birth chart readings, compatibility readings, and Astro cartography readings. The Your Stellar Truth website will be up and running within the next month or so, and I will announce the launch in this newsletter and on my @yourstellartruth Instagram page.

  • In last week’s newsletter, I shared the Cafe Astrology website, where you can calculate your birth chart. Other reputable websites you can use include Astro-Seek.com, Astro.com, and astro-charts.com

  • This YouTube video explains how to read a birth chart.
