Major Astrological Events:

  • Full Flower Moon in Sagittarius on May 23rd, 2024

  • Sun entered Gemini on May 21st

Full Flower Moon in Sagittarius: What does this mean?

  • Optimism is in the air! No, but really! The star sign Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter, which is associated with abundance, expansion, higher learning, wealth, good fortune, and pushing limits.

  • A full moon represents a time to release our emotions and what no longer serves us, symbolizing a period of introspection and inner reflection, which allows us to find a path that aligns with our most authentic selves.

  • The influence of Sagittarian energy over tomorrow’s full moon will push us to embrace change, adventure, and expansion in different areas of life as we enter Gemini season. This is a time to remind ourselves that sometimes we can be our own worst enemies when it comes to making progress and reaching our goals. Thus, we must recognize the danger in submitting to the idea that societally imposed limits and restrictions must have power over us.

  • The sign of Sagittarius is also connected to dogma and ideologies, which means that we can use this full moon to reflect on our belief systems and the importance of speaking our truth even in the face of adversity.

  • The full moon in Sagittarius is an ideal time to manifest money, abundance, opportunities, and travel experiences. Now is not the time to second guess buying those plane tickets or pursuing that promotion at work.

  • The full moon will also trine Neptune, boosting our intuition and empathy while connecting us to our more spiritual side.

  • Finally, it is called a flower moon because it occurs during the peak of springtime when many of the flowers are blooming. These moon names originate from indigenous tribes in the Americas, learn more here.

Sun enters Gemini: What does this mean?

    • The Sun entered Gemini on May 21st, marking the end of this year’s Taurus season. Gemini brings a more light-hearted energy while pushing us out of our comfort zone. Ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, the mind, and intellect, Gemini inspires us to think and research more, learn new things, and share them with those around us.

    • Gemini is represented by the twins, which embody duality. This zodiac sign can point to complementary or conflicting aspects of one’s personality, reminding us of our multidimensionality and variety as humans.

    • Fun fact, Gemini and Sagittarius are actually opposite signs, but they both share an innate curiosity and love for learning and obtaining knowledge.

    • Overall, Gemini season might also influence us to socialize more, making us more open to meeting new people and less recluse.

Astrology concept of the week: What are the houses in astrology?

  • Just like we have 12 zodiac signs in total, we also have 12 houses in astrology, numbered from 1 to 12.

  • The houses in astrology tell us about the WHERE, more specifically, the different areas of a person’s life.

  • The image below is an overview of what each house represents:

  • When reading a person’s birth chart, astrologers focus on the different houses where planets/celestial bodies and zodiac signs are located. If a person has three or more planets/celestial bodies in one house, this means they have a stellium in that house, which indicates that the theme of that house is a major focus area in their life and that there are likely lessons and karma to be learned around that topic.

  • For example, if someone has a 2nd house stellium, it could signal that they have many life lessons to learn about managing their money and resources or even earning money in general. Someone with a 7th house stellium would have a lot of activity and life lessons pertaining to romantic and/or business partnerships.

  • The houses are also linked to each zodiac sign in their respective order: 1st House Aries, 2nd House Taurus, Third House Gemini, and so on. Unsurprisingly, the Houses deal with some of the themes of each zodiac sign. For example, Taurus is the default ruler of the 2nd House, which governs money, possessions, and resources, all of which are Taurus themes.

  • This video provides a more in-depth explanation of this concept.
