Your Stellar Truth: May 8th, 2023

Issue #5

Hello, dear readers! In today’s issue, learn about the “big three” concept in astrology and the implications of the new moon in Taurus during a Taurus stellium! 🌟♉♉♉♉🌟

Major astrological events:

  • New Supermoon in Taurus: The moon entered the sign of Taurus on May 7th at around 11 p.m. EST.

  • The new moon is the first of eight lunar phases in a lunar cycle, which repeats every 29.5 days.

  • A supermoon happens when a full moon or a new moon is at its closest point to Earth during its orbit, causing it to appear larger and brighter.

  • Some believe that supermoons can amplify the effects and energies of the moon in its current zodiac sign.

What does this mean?

  • While a full moon is a time to purge all unwanted energies and gears us toward self-reflection, a new moon signals a time for us to set our intentions to build the foundation of a new path, project, or venture. In other words, full moons require us to go inward to practice introspection and new moons push us to project all our hopes, wishes, and desires outward into the universe.

  • A key theme during new moons is manifestation, which enables us to bring our dreams into tangible reality. Different practices are believed to support manifestation, including scripting, visualization, and affirmations.

  • In astrology, our moon sign is linked to our emotions, instincts, feelings, intuition, and core needs. This is part of the reason why the moon is believed to affect how we feel and behave.

  • The sign of Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, romantic relationships, artistry, and beauty. Taurus also rules the second house in astrology, which governs our resources, finances, skillset, and self-worth. Unsurprisingly, Taurus is also associated with stability, practicality, and cultivating a sense of financial security.

  • The new moon in Taurus is an ideal time for us to ground ourselves and set our intentions for the future, specifically in the areas of business and other money-making opportunities. Common themes include setting strong foundations, planning, and being resourceful and responsible. If you’re looking for a new job or wish to start a business, now’s the BEST time to manifest! This is also a key time to manifest romantic relationships if that’s what your heart desires ATM.

  • It’s also important to note that this new moon in Taurus is occurring during a stellium in the sign of Taurus. A stellium is when three or more planets are positioned in the same zodiac sign. Currently, the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, and Uranus are ALL in Taurus, which means that these Taurus themes are going to be at their peak during this time. Some downsides to the sign of Taurus are its association with stubbornness and resistance to change, which could potentially limit our creativity, openness to new ideas, and receptiveness to advice from others. This is definitely something to keep in mind during this time.

Astrology concept of the week: What are the “big three” in astrology?

  • You may have heard people mention the “big three” when discussing astrology.

  • The “big three” in astrology are your Sun, Moon, and ascendant (rising) sign. These are the most important placements in your natal chart when it comes to determining your personality and understanding life events and prevalent themes in your life.

  • The Sun sign represents a person’s ego, identity, and overall energy (vibe.)

  • The moon sign represents a person’s emotional world, instincts, intuition, and core needs.

  • The rising sign represents how a person projects their self to the world. I like to describe it as the mask we put on when we meet new people. It also relates to themes and patterns that are prevalent in a person’s life and can influence a person’s physical appearance.

  • My big three: Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Libra, Ascendant in Capricorn. To calculate yours, you must know your birth date, time, and location. You can use this website to get your entire natal chart for free!
